Valium is not the innocent "mothers
little helper" of the 1950's, Valium is a serious
narcotic that can be addicting. Valium is the brand
name for diazepam which is a benzodiazepine in the opioids
category. This simply means that Valium is a powerful
depressant that slows down brain activity and triggers
the reward system. Valium is prescribed for anxiety
and insomnia but is very easy to abuse. Many people
who are sensitive to addiction find themselves taking
more than the prescribed amount of valium. This can
lead to physical dependence and Valium addiction.
When a person first takes Valium they
may feel euphoric, sluggish, tired and painless. Soon
however after continuous use those feelings diminish.
For normal users this is fine and treatment continues
as prescribed. For those heading for valium addiction
however the pursuit of that euphoria and that feeling
of ease that comes from downing a few pills becomes
an important part of the day. Problems begin because
the body has an amazing ability to adapt to the effects
of all drugs including Valium. For the addict this means
that double or triple the dose is now necessary to accomplish
what the prescribed amount used to. It is not unusual
for recovery centers to have clients that are up to
20,30 or 60 or more a day habits.
Of course the consequences of handling
a serious habit can ruin a life. Juggling doctors, constant
trips to the emergency room and going to several pharmacies
in different towns are just a few of the illegal activities
that some valium dependents find themselves going through
to get their pills. Many people understand from a logical
view that they have a problem but cannot get past the
withdrawal symptoms long enough to quit.
Since the body has adapted to a continuous
supply of Valium it expects this supply to continue
and has made the necessary adjustments. So when this
supply is stopped because the individual recognizes
the problem, the mind begins to race because the drug
was slowing it down. This can cause high anxiety and
at worst brain seizures. This makes it very difficult
to stop on one's own without medical supervision.
Many people find the relief they seek
at a rehabilitation facility. Scripts
has been treating clients for Valium and other pharmaceutical
dependencies for many years. So high is the demand that
we are proud to announce that we have recently opened
yet another recovery center dedicated solely to treating
prescription drug dependency. This exclusive habitat
immediately takes our clients out of their troubling
circumstances so they can begin to work on themselves
and their behaviors. With in-house physicians and licensed
substance abuse counselors, our clients are in the best
of care and are treated as individuals. The residence
itself is as spectacular as the treatment.
Located on an exclusive Southern California
beach. Private rooms over-looking the ocean are available
on a first-come-first-serve basis. Everyone can enjoy
the patio that extends over the ocean and take comfort
in the fact that all the residents suffer from the same
ailment, dependency on prescription drugs.
If you or a loved one could benefit from
this type of treatment we hope that you will not delay
in contacting us for more information.
